Hey B*tch, Love You
After the success of A Paisley Mind, Gabrielle wanted to create a collaborative play with a more humorous touch. She reached out to her Concordia University classmate, Tiernan Cornford, and they began writing Hey B*tch, Love You at the end of 2022. It was then selected in and performed at the 2023 Montréal Fringe Festival at Studio Jean-Valcourt.
‘On the morning of Erickah’s wedding, cold feet have her stuck in place. Instead of calling her maid of honour, she calls bridesmaid Penny, her childhood best friend. Can Erickah and Penny not only save ‘the big day’, but their lifelong friendship? Katy Perry, rising tensions, and one chaotic time loop poke at the question: what does it mean to be ‘best friends’?’
Gabrielle and Tiernan used their draft of Hey B*tch, Love You as part of their respective applications to Playwright’s Workshop Montréal’s Young Creator’s Unit. They were both successfully accepted into the 2023-2024 cohort.
